Career Fields

There are a variety of positions in the information technology, computer science and data science career field. You will use technical skills in support of intelligence activities and systems. Positions range from entry-to expert-level and are worldwide. Most positions will have you working in an office setting in secure facilities but may also include expeditionary assignments and deployments to austere environments. All positions require a security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

You can join the intelligence career field in one of many disciplines (e.g., foreign intelligence, counterintelligence, open-source, signals, human, geospatial, etc.) or functions (e.g., staff management, operations, analysis, collection management, etc.). As a security specialist, you will administer Army security programs designed to safeguard classified and controlled unclassified national defense information. Our security specialists protect national security by ensuring that only loyal, trustworthy and reliable individuals access classified information and/or are assigned to national security sensitive positions. Together with the counterintelligence, law enforcement, insider threat and other communities, our members protect Army's classified and controlled unclassified information that is released to other federal agencies, industry and foreign nations.
