Our nation derives strength from the diversity of its population and from its commitment to equal opportunity for all. We are at our best when we draw on the talents of all parts of our society, and our greatest accomplishments are achieved when diverse perspectives are brought to bear to overcome our greatest challenges.
— President Barack Obama, Executive Order 13583
Creating a diverse federal workforce that draws from all segments of society requires sustained commitment to ensuring a level playing field upon which applicants and employees may compete for opportunities within government.
Additionally, the ODNI is committed to being a model employer of persons with disabilities in the federal workplace.
As a show of this commitment, ODNI will:
- Forge and retain a diverse, inclusive, and expert workforce to address enduring and emerging requirements and enable mission success
- Provide reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees with known and substantiated disabilities
- Take appropriate steps to ensure equal access and participation in all aspects of employment
The ODNI Chief Operating Office Diversity and Reasonable Accommodation Program, and the Intelligence Community Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Office, serve as the ODNI leads respondent for managing diversity, reasonable accommodation, and equal employment opportunity matters.
